Improving access to books and educational programs at the Fern Creek Library
Friends of the Fern Creek Library is a non-profit, volunteer group. We are dedicated to improving access to books and educational programs at the Fern Creek Library branch of the Louisville Free Public Library in Louisville, Kentucky.
Fern Creek does not currently have a library. Our branch of the Louisville Free Public Library was closed in June, 2019 as part of Louisville Metro Government budget cuts.
A state-of-the-art $18.5 million,18,000 square-foot Fern Creek Library is now under construction and is expected to open in the fall of 2026.
The Friends of the Fern Creek Library group meets every month at the Fern Creek Community Center on the third Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. When our new branch opens in 2026, we'll meet there. Please check under the Upcoming Events tabs for our next meeting.
